risiOS is merging with Nobara Linux.

This was supposed to be announced sooner with the release of Nobara 39, but things did not go to plan, and this merger never got finished. However, many risiOS features including risiWelcome and risiTweaks will be merging into a future version of Nobara in the not-so distant future.

Both distributions were focused on making Fedora more user-friendly and to offer a better out of box experience than stock Fedora. Because of this we think the merge is going to be beneficial for both risiOS and Nobara users.

Additionally, for people who need a easy upgrade path right this moment, the Ultramarine team has a script for migrating a risiOS 38 install to a Ultramarine 39 install. You can find that here.

Finally, some of the risiOS team is working on a new project called stillOS. This is an immutable distribution with similar goals to risiOS but done in a different way. You can join the waiting list for that project here.

risiOS 38 will continue to be maintained until for bug fixes and security updates until May 18th 2024.

We apologize for the delay in communicating these developments and thank you for your support. We are excited about the future of the Fedora ecosystem with our upcoming contributions to Nobara and our innovation in the space.
